Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was revealed on November 10th, 2009 and had one of the main launches I can even keep in mind! I did not go out in the midnight unleashing, but I journeyed out on opening day and was there 3 hours ahead of launch during the daytime and there were undoubtedly 20+ folks hanging there. Right after a half hour to fourty five minutes, I finally gained my copy of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 for the Playstation 3 and off I went to expend the majority of my week ranking up as rapidly as I possibly could.
So before I start out, I just want to say that I'm a huge fan of Call of Duty 4, but I tried to keep this review from the mind-set of a person who has not played any of the Call of Duty games or a person who did not like the previous games from the Call of Duty series. I wouldnt think of myself a Call of Duty fan-boy, but I was determined on buying Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 back when Call of Duty 4 was presented.
As most of you currently are familiar with, I barely ever purchase game titles that really do not include some
form of multi-player and in most cases will only purchase game titles for the multi-player element, but I did truly engage in the whole single player campaign in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and I need to say that I did get pleasure from it even when playing through a second time. The story was powerful, it absolutely was somewhat difficult to grasp at times, but it tied in relatively well with exactly where the story left off in Call of Duty 4 and presented answers to various unanswered subjects.
The only real thing I really did not like concerning the single player campaign in Modern Warfare 2 was that, for the most part, it was relatively painless on the hardest difficulty setting. Now, I did not say constantly, since that is certainly not true, there had been occasions in which I got fairly aggravated due to there were just so large a number of enemies at once on each side and it made me really angry, but other than that, the single player campaign was rewarding and a refreshing new game to play through.
As far as the controller layout goes, it truly is exactly the same as in Call of Duty 4 and it most definitely was perfect for that game and is still totally faultless now. As far as I am concerned, the control layout options in COD4 and MW2 are the most perfect layouts that have ever been put together for any online game. You'll notice a few other layouts that you can choose from and each of those control schemes are fantastic as well. Some of the optional layouts take just a little while to get used to, but the moment you are used to the new controller layout, you are godly!
Now comes the aspect that you all have been patiently waiting for! My thoughts about the multiplayer element of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2! So after putting in over 360 hours of online gaming, I think I can give a fairly quality overview of what it is all about. For the most part, everything is better balanced. The maps are laid out with care, and most of the perks and weapon attachments work fine. This being said, there are definitely negatives to go along with the positives. Now, dont get me wrong here, I am not planning to go over every little thing that is correct in this online game, because it would take too long. Instead, I am planning to try and go over some of the major faults within the online element of this online game, due to the fact that I believe this would be way more beneficial to potential buyers and/or previous owners.
Here we go, lets get started now relating to the negative elements. As far as I am concerned, 1 man army is really the only unethical perk. On its own, there is nothing wrong with it, and it can be tremendously practical based on your state of affairs, but utilized while in the hands, it can be applied in an very bothersome way that will make any individual aspire to simply demolish their controller until the pieces quit soaring.
Next up, we have death streaks. To just be up front and frank, being rewarded for dying, in my opinion, is just ridiculous. There should really be no need for this if the spawn system was clearly thought through, which, sadly, it most undeniably isn't, but if you are utilizing death streaks for anything but to stop the awful spawn function, then you've no excuse, you're a noob.
On that note, I might as well touch over the spawn procedure seeing as I previously opened that can of worms. Without jumping into a huge rant, essentially the spawn application functions nicely in most cases, but on the occasion, it performs just about as well as an Xbox 360 with the RROD. It does not assist you whatsoever, it can cause you intensified anger, and it makes you wish to pitch your console out the windowpane of a three story or higher structure. I am quite positive that that could be pretty much all that I have to say about that, since if you have played a suitable number of online games and game types, you know exactly what I am conversing about.
One particular other thing that functions just like that, is the matchmaking process. The online game automatically selects what room it is going to set you in. This means, you can be put in a room which has 13 seconds left during the game and it is practically unreal for you to win. This honestly maddens me to no end. There is no simpler method to wreck my excitement to just relieve stress and engage in some Modern Warfare 2 then when I fire it up and join a online game on a team that has been just getting raped. It is not fun in any respect, in fact, most of the time if this occurs I will undoubtedly shut the PlayStation 3 off right then and there and do anything else.
As far as weapons go, they're very considerably balanced now. In the beginning there was a huge argument concerning the model 1887s, but thanks to every one of the whiners, they got nerfed and now are about just as wonderful as casting a rock at someone. As far as the other areas of the guns go, they're all exceedingly powerful and if you ever really do not respond speedily, you will die devoid of even knowing what occurred.
I think this concludes the rant relating to the multiplayer element of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and if you need to understand any extra concerning it, just spend money on it, because it is most positively deserving of the revenue. Interesting Stuff |
